Fordyn-dynamite is a mouldable (plastic) explosive, which contains nitro glycol and ammonium nitrite. The colour of the explosive is yellowish. It is suitable for all types of blasting, in all normal circumstances. Due to its good qualities, it is used especially in underwater stoping, as a base charge in open-cut mining, channelling and for blasting in populated areas. Fordyn is also suitable for small and precise blasting, where extremely small amounts of explosives are used, as Fordyn is easy to cut into small doses.
Due to the mouldability and high specific weight (1,5 kg/dm3) it is possible to obtain a high specific charge. Fordyn has a high water resistance. Forcit also produces the special explosive, H-dynamite, when specially ordered. H-dynamite is suitable for very deep underwater stoping. H-dynamite is reliable to depths of up to 50 meters.
